Kràsny Káva
Lovely Coffee for Lovely People
For this project we were to select a country from a given list to use as a theme for a coffee shop. We were to create a brand, a business card, three coffee bags, and a menu. I chose Slovakia as my country and created Kràsny Káva (Lovely Coffee).

Style Sheet
I was very inspired by Slovakia’s deep roots in folklore and nature. I took inspiration from their intricate embroidery patterns in their traditional folk costumes to create my own brand patterns. I use two shades of blue and red to represent Slovakia’s flag colors that they are so proud of. I also use accents of green to represent their deep roots in nature and orange to grab the viewers’ attention. I also pulled inspiration from Slovak design and used their style of letter stacking in my logo. I also have the small detail of using the two accents above the “a”‘s to create the tertiary mark of a heart to emphasize the “lovely” aspect of the brand.

Look-Book
When it came to creating the look-book, I wanted to keep the “busy-ness” of the patterns in the brand identity and convey that in the spreads of the book. To do so, I used a grid system and balanced type, images, and negative space in each spread.
Coffee Bags
For the coffee bags, I wanted to focus on a specific “coffee bean flourish” I had illustrated and based off of Slovak floral patterns. I turned each bean flourish into its own pattern and created a color system for each coffee roast that it would represent.
